How to choose a table for a small kitchen

A small kitchen needs a table that suits both everyday meals and the way you move around the room. Before choosing a finish or leg shape, check the space left when the table is in place and the chairs are pulled out.

Measure the whole dining area

Mark the planned tabletop outline on the floor with masking tape. Position your chairs around it and check that you can sit comfortably, open cupboards and reach the fridge. Allow for doors, radiators and projecting handles. Tabletop dimensions alone do not describe the space needed to use the table.

Choose a size for your meals

Check that your household's place settings and usual serving dishes fit. A compact top may suit a quick breakfast, while shared main meals may call for a larger variant. Chair width and the space between table legs also affect seating, so do not judge the number of places from a product name alone.

Consider a drawer

A drawer can hold small accessories. Check that there is room to open it and that your chairs fit beneath the table structure. Compare the available wooden kitchen and dining tables, including models with and without a drawer.

Check the selected variant

Select the tabletop dimensions on the product page and check its current price. A photograph illustrates the model but does not replace the measurements of your chosen variant. Compare sizes before ordering and choose the table that fits your actual space.
